AFAICR I used the december version (was the latest in the downloads), which was then identified as Nov 2017. Since that, I cleared the SD card and installed again (from the same file on my server PC) - and now MyOSMC says I have 2017.12-1 !!
I’ll remember your tip about holding the boot package - thanks
