Did as requested rebooted twice then applied hotfix which is:
my osmc -updates - manual control, apply hotfix updates2026fix. then press enter
@eaglem In both log sets debug logging was not enabled. Read again the instructions and try again, thx.

Okay, fixed. The problem was when putting in the hotfix code I followed as others had typed with a fullstop on the end and nothing worked but when I left the fullstop off ie updates2026fix it worked and the system updated.
