Hi,
Powered on my Vero4K+ today for the first time in ages, and have been trying to update to the latest build. I tried running a manual update from My OSMC but it just crashes out.
Sorry if I’m missing something obvious, but is been a while and I’m not sure how to proceed. Ideally I’d like to keep my Kodi database, but if I need to start again, I can.
Can anyone help?
To get a better understanding of the problem you are experiencing we need more information from you. The best way to get this information is for you to upload logs that demonstrate your problem. You can learn more about how to submit a useful support request here.
Depending on the used skin you have to set the settings-level to standard or higher, in summary:
-
enable debug logging at settings->system->logging
-
reboot the OSMC device twice(!)
-
reproduce the issue
-
upload the log set (all configs and logs!) either using the
Log Uploader
method within the My OSMC menu in the GUI or thessh
method invoking commandgrab-logs -A
-
publish the provided URL from the log set upload, here
Thanks for your understanding. We hope that we can help you get up and running again shortly.

Thanks for the reply.
I did that, but the Log Uploader didn’t give me a URL.
Got “Combining and writing logs” then nothing.
Hi,
Did you reboot twice?
Thanks Tom.
I did.
I was going to try to update through SSH, but realised that I had changed both SSH passwords, and hadn’t added them to my password manager and had no idea what I had changed them to. I am an idiot.
I ended up doing a re-install and rebuild of my media database, so I’m all good now.
Thanks for your help, though.
