Upgrade from RaspBMC to OSMC gives nothing but grief

Took about a day to crash this time, I was able to check the CPU/RAM etc. load and it all seems to be perfectly fine, none of the artwork was showing up (in any of the skins) but i could browse around just fine. Eventually when I hit play it just hung on “please wait” again.
Obviously something in Kodi is crashing causing this, I wouldn’t be able to navigate or my CPU or RAM would be running overtime but its neatly between 30-60% and I had about 150mb ram left so that isn’t an issue either.

Would you be willing to try a fresh install on another SD card and try not overclocking it and installing addons to start with. That way we can see if the base install is stable for you.

Could you also measure power with a multimeter from the test points.

Already did, same result, it pretty much starts croaking after I build my library, even without addons.
Tried running RaspBMC again as well with my old image, no problems.

4.98~ (shifts to 4.99) incoming to the regulator 3.35~ after the regulator.
Pretty much as expected.
Also did the TP’s for overkill, 4.96, (often up to 4.97 but I lowered it a bit).

Really far fetched idea especially since the RAM seems perfectly fine but since the thumbnail etc.doesn’t always seem to load, and since the GUI sounds stop working as well, maybe its having trouble reading/writing cached files or such (?)
Since it was forever ago that I actually set up my RaspBMC I don’t know how I exactly tweaked it anymore but what I do recall is slightly increasing the swapipness… I think… or I changed it back after my USB stick died and I had to revert back to SD’s but either way it might be worth it so i’m trying it now, increased swappiness to 70.

Setting swappiness only has effect if you actually have a swap file. Unless you have setup a swap file, it will have no effect.

Hehe yea of course, I made a 1GB swap file (kind of big but who cares :stuck_out_tongue: )
