UPNP Browser show nothing, whats wrong?

Hi,

I installed OSMC on a Raspberry Pi 4B to Upgrade an old TV.
I do have KODI on various devices like PC and Android TV and never had any problems setting it up…

But on my new OSMC I have big problems getting any kind of content into the system.

Biggest Problem is that the UPNP Browser shows exactly nothing, I have more than 3 UPNP Servers (EMBY NAS, Synology, ASUS Merlin Router…) and lots of clients like 2 TVs, BubbleUPNP, BluRay Player and others. They all have no Problems finding each other, yet the OSMC UPNP Browser stays empty and expects me to type in an address manually…

So far I only installed Youtube and some Streaming Addons.

Regards

Martin

It’s going to be hard to help you without some debug logs.

Hello,

sorry I thought it was a basic install on a standard hardware without any error messages, so its a user error, I simply did not install some addon or make some setting or so…

I looked into the logging issue, I activated some logging functions and I found the menu to upload some logs to the internet or copy them to the sd card.

What I did not find is where to actually look into those unspecified logs, I am hesitant to blindly upload stuff to the internet sorry.

Regards
Martin

That’s your call. This is the user forum for OSMC, it’s not some random place on the dark web. If you don’t trust us enough to upload logs, you shouldn’t trust anything we tell you for troubleshooting. Of course nobody will be able to help without some logs, so you probably won’t get any advice of any kind (trustworthy or not).

If you want to look at the logs first, they’re in ~/.kodi/temp/kodi.log.

Actually, @Taxx shouldn’t trust us to provide an OS for his device or security updates and bug fixes if he is that way inclined.

I suggest using another OS.

It sounded like he was referring to where a locally saved log set was stored by grab-log and that would be /boot/uploadlog.txt

What you looking for is in the section titled “Sanitizing your logs” found in our “How to submit a useful support request” wiki article.

Hello,

sorry to have bothered you, I really thought I just forgot some config step.

It is a network problem, I saw the servers for a very short time, then they where unreachable again.
Tried multiple time to assign a static ip adress or user a different wifi but it crashes when I do that.

The project is cancelled now.

I bought an android tv box, I probably really need something more plug and play

I wish you a happy new year
