USB attached hard drive path changed

I have a WD portable drive attached to the vero 4K via usb hub.
I occasionally unplug it to make file transfers faster than transferring over wifi.

When I reconnected it, none of my files will play via the Movies or TV Shows section saying file not found.

Hard drive is fine and I can play all the files via the Files section.

Connecting via FTP I can see the issue but don’t know how to resolve.

The WD-Portable-5TB drive name is not accessible via ftp but there’s a second entry that is and the name was changed to: WD-Portable-5TB_

I connected the drive to my of again but it doesn’t show the new underscore name.

Do I have to rescan all files back into the library?

Do you just unplug or safely remove?

I think you know the answer to that :joy:
Does the Vero have a safe unplug option or just power it down?

No. The first thing to try is to just unplug the drive and reboot. After it boots plug it back in and see if that takes care of the problem. If it doesn’t then then ssh into your device and run the following command…

sudo rm /media/WD-Portable-5TB && reboot

The underscore would be because for some reason the previous mount point didn’t get cleaned up and got stuck there and the automounter added the underscore to have a unique name to mount to. Once the folder is deleted the next time the OS goes to mount that disk it should use the original name again for the mount.

If you navigate to it via the videos>files, your sources in the settings, or via widget, then a context menu over the Kodi source will have a safe remove option.

Awesome on both accounts.
Honest to god, once upon a time I figured this stuff out on my own.
At any rate, good to know about the ‘safely remove’ option and the full reboot without hard drive resolved the bad path.

Appreciate the quick help (again).
