I’ve noticed that another project with Raspberry Pi support, OpenMediaVault, uses fs2ram/folder2ram as a plugin to avoid unnecessary disk writes thus prolonging the lifetime of the SD card in the Pi. Wouldn’t this suit OSMC as well? Perhaps at least with the Pi 2, since it has double the amount of RAM.

An SD card can sustain many, many writes, and this is completely unnecessary unless the files are not destined for persistent storage in the long term.
