Many times in the last 3 days my Vero 2 crashed. After the crash the image on the tv screen becomes fuzzy and you can hear a loud hum coming from the tv. The only way is to disconnect power and usually, after that, you have to reinstall OSMC (FATAL ERROR: Could not find root filesystem…). I found that when I try to copy/trasfer files from Vero or when I scroll quickly a list (i.e. movies list). Please let me know how I can help you to find the problem; it is rubbish to continually reconfigure the system.
Thanks.
PS: In addition, the only way to reinstall the system is renaming the kernel.img
Two times more, trying to rebuild the system! While is rebuilding the movies library.
That sucks.
Sounds like a hardware problem.
Send an email to sam@osmc.tv and we will get you fixed up
Sorry for the inconvenience.

OK Sam, I think it’s definitively dead. I’'l send you an email.
It sounds like the same problems I was having. It turned out to be the power supply overheating the unit. I replaced with a different PSU and the issue went away. I’ve added a laptop cooler and its made the unit even more stable. Sam has sent me a replacement PSU and we’ll see if that resolves overheating issues.
A laptop cooler is not needed on the Vero 2. I’m sure many other customers will back this up.
60C is also not very hot for the SoC either. I think the PSU may have been problematic; certainly overclocking or forcing CPU speeds (as per your post history) will not help.
If you really think it could be the PSU and not overclocking or sysctl tweaks causing higher temps, I am happy to arrange to get the old one back (I didn’t arrange for that as a PSU is very inexpensive to replace and we don’t need the return). I can have a look and see if the PSU is problematic.
If you do not override OSMC’s thermal governing, i.e by setting speeds manually, the SoC will happily sustain 90c temps. But this is a very rare trip point anyhow.

pmhaustein4h, I didn’t have experience of overheating with Vero 2. When I had the problem, Vero 2 was always cold.
Maybe we didn’t have the same problem.
