Hello there. Ive been having this problem for a while now. It worked fine, cant precise until when but i cant figure out why.
Im playing the videos/movies from a Synology NAS to a Vero 4K. 1080p its fine with really high bitrate audio. 4K video is smooth, audio isnt.
The connection: Nas → Router → Switch → Vero 4K. Its across some rooms. All gigabit. Im hoping its some bad configuration on Vero 4K. Connecting through SMB (couldnt make NFS work). SMB was fine before.
I can play 2 movies at once directly from NAS on pc without any problem, both 4K, Dolby and DTS:X.
Of course, im a noob!
Any ideas what it could be?
Thanks in advance.
Debug Logs or it didn’t happen.
Seriously there are like 1000 things that could cause that problem. We’d all just be guessing.

Many thanks for the quick reply. Ill upload tomorrow after i find how to get them.
To get a better understanding of the problem you are experiencing we need more information from you. The best way to get this information is for you to upload logs that demonstrate your problem. You can learn more about how to submit a useful support request here.
Depending on the used skin you have to set the settings-level to standard or higher, in summary:
-
enable debug logging at settings->system->logging
-
reboot the OSMC device twice(!)
-
reproduce the issue
-
upload the log set (all configs and logs!) either using the Log Uploader
method within the My OSMC menu in the GUI or the ssh
method invoking command grab-logs -A
-
publish the provided URL from the log set upload, here
Thanks for your understanding. We hope that we can help you get up and running again shortly.

Hello and goodnight.
So just did the reboots and played a 4k movie and the video was ok audio was with breaks. Here are the logs: http://paste.osmc.tv/efodudusur
Thanks in advance.
Make sure you have not set the Vero UI display to 4k as that can cause stuttering when playing back 4k videos. Set that to 1080p and when playing 4k video, it automatically adjusts the resolution to the video.

Hi there. Sorry for the slow answer but i can check at night or at weekends. Its at 1080p. Any other ideas? Thanks
Have a quick read about iperf to investigate your actual network connection speed.
Will try. That was my thougth aswell, something my be wrong with connection speed.
Thanks
You’ve activated ‘sync playback to display’ at GUI → Settings → Player → Videos which is in the most cases the wrong configuration. It forces the player to use the suggested framerate of the connected hdmi device (your Marantz AVR) instead of the real framerate of the video. It also prevents getting audio passthrough to work.
Try to deactivate this setting and let us know how far you get, now.
It’s a placebo setting now – in that it is ignored for this very reason, but the user should still disable it and use Adjust Refresh Rate.
