Vero 4K - All updates - 2160p Black screen

Hello,

I’ve just received my Vero 4k but am having an issue when I select either of the 2160p resolutions. When I select a UHD resolution the screen goes black. The Vero is connected with the supplied hdmi cable.

Hi please post the output of this command:

cat /sys/class/amhdmitx/amhdmitx0/disp_cap

When opening with VI (as root) it says

The UHD resolution are indeed there. Can you please test if enabling “Adjust Refresh Rate” in Settings -> Player and playing a UHD movie correctly adjusts the res to 2160p?

With that setting enabled the screen goes black when playing an UHD movie.

Is yours a smart tv? Can you play an UHD movie directly from a usb key / hdd?

Yes, it’s a Samsung JS8500. It can play the same movies from usb just fine. Also my PS4 Pro outputs 4k as confirmed by the tv.

@sam_nazarko Do you have any other tests to make sure it’s not a faulty unit?

@sam_nazarko It appears to be an issue with the cable, I guess that’s possible?. I’ve gone out and bought another cable which works…

Glad it’s resolved now. We can send a replacement cable.

I would not recommend running the GUI in 4K. Vero will change to 4K when necessary for video playback.
