is the Vero 4K able to read “AV1” (?)
“This movie is encoded in AV1, it is a new codec similar to x265”

Vero 4K cannot decode AV1 in hardware and lacks the CPU power to do it in software.

It’s something we are looking in to for future models, but won’t happen with 4K/4K+

Yup - I confirm that as of mid-November 2024,
an AV1 file I downloaded does not play properly on Vero 4K+
the video is jittery and audio sync is off.
AV1 is only software decoded on Vero 4K/4K+.
The Vero V supports hardware acceleration of AV1.
