I dont know how, but it was possible to use my vero 4k with my LG-TV-Remote. Its a BT-Remote and i did not configure settings at or in the Vero. it just worked.
So i could use the TV-Remote to navigate, select a movie, folder and so on, and start a movie from a server in my lan.
but: If i start a movie, i only see the swirly and wait minutes, but nothing happens. the swirly still rotates, but the time-counter of the movie was started and counts.
So i reboot the vero.
And now the possibility to control it with the tv-remote is gone. therefore the movies starts direcly without a long waitingtime.
So what may i do, to get the option back, to control the vero with my tv-remote? Because i postet allready: the vero remote eats my batteries in 1-2 weeks.
Try unplugging power from your TV and Vero for thirty seconds and then plug it back in and see where your at.
my tv is off the electric every night. the vero is still at the power. so how may i reach the statte, that i can control the vero via my LG-TV-remote?
If you had never configured anything, and it “just worked” out the box, then you were controlling it via CEC. If rebooting the TV doesn’t make it start working straight away, and you changed no related settings in either Kodi nor used the device configuration app in your TV and changed something there, then I’d suggest to first try unplugging, and then replugging both ends of your HDMI cable and, failing that, try a different input on your TV and, failing that, try a different HDMI cable.
You could also upload some logs which might provide some insight…
Mine works out of the box - no set up needed. Just need to make sure it’s not in mouse mode. Use the cursor near scroll wheel and it stops the mouse mode
