Hello,
I have a Vero 4K which has been in service for a few years. I also have several other devices connected to the same Kodi database which work fine. I now have ~1100 items in my collection between TV and movies.
I normally use the Infowall view. However, on my 4K I have been finding that art loading performance has rapidly degraded in this view, to the point where I have had to switch to text-only title view. I am wondering if the issue is because there is more art than the system can cache, though I do note that reported RAM usage is still under 512MB.
I have tried re-installing OSMC, which did not make any difference.
I was wondering if anybody else had a collection this large, and whether they had similar issues, or if I need to look for the issue elsewhere.
Thanks
Hi, in case you are using the Estuary skin, have a look at this post and the related thread Thumbnail issue - #102 by JimKnopf.
Let us know whether this is the situation you described.
Thank you. I found in that issue the suggestion to disable extract thumbnails from files, and that seemed to fix the problem.

It sounds like Kodi is running out of memory and crashing.
On Vero V we doubled the RAM. While 2GB RAM was more than ample for Vero 4K and Vero 4K+ in 2017/2018; resource requirements always increase with each iteration of Debian and Kodi.
If you had a problem with all views, Iād suggest a corrupt file, but if it is only occurring on certain views then I think it is a memory issue.
Cheers,
Sam
That issue shows people experiencing this on Vero Vs as well, and as I said reported memory usage was low. Disabling the mentioned setting fixed the problem for me. I have no desire to put this perfectly functional device in a landfill.
