Vero 4k+ compatible external drive

Hello,

Im running old good Vero 4k+, on my old good plasma (time to time), so its still fine for my needs. I just need to get bigger storage, so far Im on 1,5 TB hdd, without external power. I would like to stay that way.

Im familiar with USB 2.0 restrictions (V, mA), but I found I cant find those info about storages :stuck_out_tongue: My questions, is here anyone who use any 4TB (no ssd as they are twice as expensive, but small 5400, 2,5 external would be best) on USB 2.0 on Vero 4k+ without additional power needed? Something like WD Elements Portable 4TB or Seagate Basic Portable 4TB?

Ty

I think you will need to power this type of drive

A powered USB hub may help you.

I’ve used 5TB WD Elements and 5TB WD My Passport drives successfully on my Raspberry Pis and Veros with no problems.

You might get away with it – but it will wear the PSU down quicker and if data integrity is important, I strongly advise against it.
