Vero 4k+ craps out in middle of movie

The Vero follows USB specs on external devices. Many external drives draw far more power than USB specs allow for. I don’t know the specs on your SSD drive so I can’t say if that’s the issue, but trying a powered USB Hub would help rule power out as the issue.

Intermittent crashes are one of the signs of power problems. If you try a USB Hub and all your problems go away then you will know that your drive is one of those that does not follow USB specs. If it doesn’t solve the problem then we know that there is something else going on. The easiest thing to try is obviously a hub.

Hi @Willow1262

The Vero 4K + implements USB2.0 and will provide 0.5a as per the USB spec per device.
SSDs may consume more than this.

This is not a hardware issue or bad design – we just follow the specs.

When we release a device with USB3 or USB4 in the future, we’ll follow those specs too

Thanks for your understanding
