Vero 4k: Dolby Vision profile 5 tonemapping

Hello,

is there any chance to get Dolby Vision profile 5 tonemapping to HDR on the Vero 4k platform like there already is on the Vero 5?

I can find posts that this will never be possibly on the Raspberry Pi platform, but I’m wondering is this is at all possible on the Vero 4k platform.

I’m sure someone from the OSMC team will confirm, but I’m 90% sure I’ve seen posts here saying that Dolby Vision tone mapping to HDR won’t be coming to the Vero 4k/4K+ either. It’s a Vero V platform only thing.

Correct. Even if it was possible, no-one is going to put the time in on a product that’s practically EOL.

The Vero 4K will be end of life on January 2025 unfortunately.

It’s time to upgrade - we supported it for eight years but we need to move forward now from a technology perspective. Of course your device won’t stop working, but it won’t receive updates.

Any existing customer of Vero 4K/4K+ can contact sales@osmc.tv with their order number and receive an upgrade offer until June 2025.
