Vero 4K, first questions

My Vero 4K arrived just on time for this Easter weekend

Very nice box indeed!

No problems hooking it up and getting first boot.

Couple of questions:

  • I gather one of 3,5mm jacks also does S/PDIF? Which one? (nice BTW!)

  • I’m always getting digital sound on both the TV and also on my receiver through the optical, regardless of the device I choose in Audio Settings (which should I choose?), but how do I disable sound on the TV?

  • VNC Add-On isn’t included in yet?

Regards,
Nick

Hello

There are two ports:

  • The one nearest the Ethernet port is a CVBS port, which can do 480/576 video output with two analogue channels.
  • The second 3.5mm port is for the included IR extender, if you would like to use a universal remote, such as a Logitech Harmony and place the receiver behind the TV or in an AV cabinet. This isn’t necessary if you are not putting the device out of line of sight, or if you’re using the included RF based remote

The SPDIF is TOSLINK, not RCA.

The SoC is designed as a dual output sink (quite handy when using Spotify Connect etc), so the easiest way would be to mute the TV. Most people do this if all audio is going to the AVR anyway.

Not yet – because it’s still a bit experimental. A user requested this before, so I have some instructions on how to get it up and running on your device:
