HI guys,
I understand that the Vero 4K+ is at end of life, but it’s functioning at the moment, and I’m not quite ready to order a Vero V yet. My question is in the title. Should I install the update that it has downloaded, or will that mess things up?
TIA,
Bill
Hi
Yes, it should be just fine.
Can you let me know which version of OSMC you are on and post a log before updating?
Many thanks
Sam
I’m on OSMC 2024.10-1.
I’ve forgotten how to post a log. I’ll sort that and upload one.
Thx,
Bill
You can update just fine
Final is 2025.03-1.
We backported some patches to give Vero 4K/4K+ a good send off
Sam
Thx, Sam–yer a true gent! I’ll upgrade soon. I just had to rebuild my whole Plex library when the server died, so I need to get over that trauma before having to set up a new device.

Sorry to hear that, best of luck. Remember to use your upgrade code when buying a new device.

It will just be base-files-osmc package.
Won’t break anything.
Are you updating from a very old version? Can you post a log because more recent versions of OSMC should not be requesting updates any more

Hi @sam_nazarko , Vero 4K+ with new update to version 2025.11-1. Previous version was 2025.08.1.
No issues so far, using plain vanilla UI with some extentions to update library (sitting on a NAS). Great to see the 4k+ gets updates.
Can you please post a log?
There aren’t any significant changes for Vero 4K/4K+ anymore and no official releases beyond 2025.03-1.
Thanks
Sam
Same my 4k+ has upgraded to November. No issues works same as before.
Yes but shouldn’t be doing this because next major update will be breaking.
Will think of the correct approach to address this.

Hi Sam, the update icon in the UI is visible. When using the OSMC App and searching for the update the app tells : This device is no longer receives updates. However, if i go into the manual settings and search for the update it downloads and if I choose: Update now it does update as expected.

We will re-work this because otherwise things will break with Trixie.
