Vero 4k Kodi gave 'could not connect error'

The Vero 4k worked well for a month or so, then suddenly I got an error saying ‘Could not connect’ and ‘Host not found’. I couldn’t find any online advice for how to solve the problem and found the solution by accident. I’m posting so others don’t waste days being as frustrated as I was.

It turned out that the problem was my host computer’s IP address had changed.

If you get the same error and you have used an IP address for your SMB windows link, then check that the IP addresses are the same for your computer and the Vero 4k Kodi share addresses.

I would recommend setting a static IP (either by reservation on your router) or on your computer itself. This will give you a consistent IP and avoid issues in the future.

Decent routers will let you set the lease time on DHCP as well, pretty sure mine are set to as high as they can go so they never change. Static is the best route though.
