The AMP would just then stay on a single source (TV).
Downsides ??
It depends on the particulars of the hardware. If the TV and AVR support eARC then there may be none. Otherwise youāre probably looking at introducing some limits to what audio formats you can play. If you read though the following it should give you a pretty good understandingā¦
