Vero 4K+ phantom controller?

OK so the weirdest things has just happened. I was just sitting doing something else when the item just started playing on it’s own. I stopped it but it started again, then I started hearing very fast key presses like the button was being held down.

OK , I thought, must be the remote’s packed up. So to verify this I unplug the USB dongle and restart Kodi. But as soon as kodi starts it begins all over again. So reboot the box, the same. Disable the web interface , the same. But every time Kod starts I now get this stuck key sound and the interface is unresponsive. I have looked in the logs and even run it standalone with debug, still nothing showing a phantom input.

FWIW these are all the errors in the log.

FWIW I see a mouse cursor in the top left of the screen where there never uses to be one.

There are no dmegs talking of a new input device so what is going on ?

Edit:

Here is the input device list.

EDIT 2.

Ok not a hardware problem it seems. I moved my .kodi folder to start with a fresh profile and it is not happening. Something in the profile is. I shall investigate further.

EDIT 3.

Ok so it seem somehow guisettings.xml was corrupt somehow. I remove it and the problem goes away. Very odd.

If it happens again - check remote window and see if you see a blue light. If so - it could be some debris (like a crisp) in the remote.

If you have another Vero or remote, then you can re-pair by holding Home and OK to avoid conflicts.

Cheers

Sam

S’ok you can dismiss it. Turns out it was an internet client that crashed, sending to port 8080 on the box. It got stuck in a loop and so not the box at all. My set-up and a misconfigured client. Mea Culpa
