Vero V Hardware Failure

  1. I am writing to request assistance with my Vero V. Unfortunately, the device appears to have suffered a hardware failure: it will no longer read the hard drive, will not boot, and is unresponsive to factory reinstall attempts via SD card.

  2. When I try to update the library, I received this message.

    a. OSMC: Open-Source Media Center Kodi login:

  3. When I try to play an audio file I receive an unhappy face.

It sounds that OSMC (means the GUI on the TV is still running)?
First path for resolution would be to provide log via MyOSMC.

To get a better understanding of the problem you are experiencing we need more information from you. The best way to get this information is for you to upload logs that demonstrate your problem. You can learn more about how to submit a useful support request here.

Depending on the used skin you have to set the settings-level to standard or higher, in summary:

  • enable debug logging at settings->system->logging

  • reboot the OSMC device twice(!)

  • reproduce the issue

  • upload the log set (all configs and logs!) either using the Log Uploader method within the My OSMC menu in the GUI or the ssh method invoking command grab-logs -A

  • publish the provided URL from the log set upload, here

Thanks for your understanding. We hope that we can help you get up and running again shortly.

You wrote to me on the support address about this a few days ago.

As advised, Vero V doesn’t ‘understand’ the OSMC installer EXE. You need to run this program on your PC to create reinstallation media for the Vero V itself.

Please see Reinstalling OSMC - Vero V - OSMC.
