Vero V Having Playback Issues - Blue Screen

Never really had this happen with my Vero 4k but since upgrading I’ve had a few files that only went to a blue screen. Here’s mediainfo of one that’s not worked:

If I turn off “Force 422 Subsampling” then it does play video but audio doesn’t work.

Whattttt?

HDMI is running through an Onkyo NR676 receiver and then into a TCL Series 6 display.

I had no issues with this config on the 4k so what’s happening now?

To get a better understanding of the problem you are experiencing we need more information from you. The best way to get this information is for you to upload logs that demonstrate your problem. You can learn more about how to submit a useful support request here.

Depending on the used skin you have to set the settings-level to standard or higher, in summary:

  • enable debug logging at settings->system->logging

  • reboot the OSMC device twice(!)

  • reproduce the issue

  • upload the log set (all configs and logs!) either using the Log Uploader method within the My OSMC menu in the GUI or the ssh method invoking command grab-logs -A

  • publish the provided URL from the log set upload, here

Thanks for your understanding. We hope that we can help you get up and running again shortly.

As an experiment I whitelisted every available selection and then toggled off “All double refresh rates” and it seems to now be working. Is this the correct/best way to do this? The log makes it look like it was trying to play it at the same resolution as the interface (3840x2160 @ 59.94)

Is it better to upscale it or play it back at the native resolution?

It is better to play content at its native resolution where possible
