Vero V / LG B5: purple colours during Dolby Vision playback

Hi,

I’m getting recurring purple colours when playing Marvel’s VisionQuest, S01E01 (“No Strings”) in Dolby Vision.

Setup: Vero V, OSMC 2026.05-2, Kodi 21.3, kernel 4.9.269-93-osmc; LG B5 77-inch OLED and Samsung Q800F soundbar.

The purple tint can remain in Kodi’s menus after stopping playback. “Force HDR (no DV)” clears it. Resetting playback also restored normal colours once, but the TV switched to HDR; restarting the episode brought the purple picture back. I’d like to resolve this while retaining Dolby Vision.

File: MKV, HEVC Main 10, 2160p24, Dolby Vision dvhe.08.06, BL+RPU, HDR10 compatible, plus HDR10+ Profile A; BT.2020/PQ.

Live state captured during the fault on October 16 at 11:33:39 UTC−04:00:

  • Kodi: DVCodec: DV support enabled

  • HDMI: 2160p24hz, 8-bit YUV444, full range, EOTF: SDR, BT709, DV type Not DV

  • Receiver capabilities advertise standard and low-latency DV.

  • Module parameters: dolby_vision_enable: Y, dolby_vision_policy: 1

I have the same issue and I already tried 3 different versions.

I believe this has been fixed in staging, but I don’t recommend you try that just yet as there’s a regression in the staging repo that needs reverting.
