Vero V power supply overheating

Hi, over the last few days, the power supply of my Vero V has been getting very warm to hot. I’ve now noticed that this apparently faulty PSU was causing an interference noise through the speakers connected to my AV receiver. The noise was audible as long as the PSU was plugged in and disappeared when unplugged. Setup: Vero V → HDMI → AV receiver → speakers. I’m currently using a replacement power supply, and both the overheating and the interference noise have completely disappeared.

Has anyone else experienced this with the original Vero V PSU? Is this a known issue indicating a faulty unit?

Thanks for any advice!

Not a known issue.

Is the PSU connected direct to wall or is it going through any other equipment?

I recommend to stop using the PSU to prevent damage to the device.

Plugged directly into the wall with enough space between it and other plugs. I'm currently using a different power supply. No more overheating. No more interference. The original power supply is simply "am Arsch".

I am not sure what this means.

I could take an educated guess, which is fair enough.

Might be an idea to get a new PSU from us

Sam

That was a rather blunt way of putting it. It means the power supply is broken. I've already described the signs above. I'd gladly accept an offer for a new one. I posted this to inform you about this strange technical issue.

Understood.

Was it always connected directly to the wall or did it go through some other equipment?

No, direct supply.

Contact support@osmc.tv with order details and we will get it sorted

Thanks

Just done

Thanks. I won’t pick this up until Monday most likely
