Hi, I have a problem with my Vero V in conjunction with my AVR and subwoofer. As soon as the Vero is plugged in, I have strange noises, like hissing, coming from the subwoofer. I’ve already replaced all the cables etc., but I can’t get rid of it. Plugging Vero into a different socket also helps, but I only have one on site at the moment
What kind of power supply can I try as a replacement for the Vero? Will a normal 5V USB power supply work? Just need to find a USB cable with a suitable plug …
Is it possible to deactivate/switch off everything in the Vero that emits radiation? Bluetooth, IR, FR, …? If so, how?
Do you have any other ideas?
When you say “different socket,” what do you mean. A different electrical outlet or a different power supply (I think it’s the former). Weird sound coming from speakers when certain things are plugged in can be an indication of a ground loop fault. That’s either bad wiring in the wall or bad wiring on one of the devices. If you change to a different electrical outlet and the problem goes away (or gets better), that’s at least some indication that the problem is the house wiring. This kind of thing can be hard to troubleshoot though.
It’s unlikely that turning off the bluetooth, wifi, IR, etc will help this any.
I tried a different wall socket as I dont have a second replacement power supply yet so I just moved the vero to a different power outlet or socket or what it is called in english? ;D
I am still trying to better sort things out and trying to isolate the problem further. Its no a 50/100Hz loop that you hear. It sounds like a not completely closed water bottle, where the carbonic acid is getting slowly out …
Could be a cable or coil effect from somewhere possibly.
Was able to track it down to a specific device and now got it solved by exchanging some components
Out of curiosity – could you elaborate?
