My Vero V remote frequently either misses button presses. I have emailed the support email address twice but had no response. Does it need replacement or is it possible to fix it?
Hi
Have you tried changing the battery or re-pairing the remote?
I am slightly behind on emails but will be back on top of them shortly.
Sam
I think this is related to remote battery saving. On my unit when remote is idle for some time it misses first keypress on wakeup. Its somewhat annoying but i asume no software/firmware fix possible for this?
I must be honest, this was such a common problem for me I gave up on it and now depend on CEC instead. I changed battery and did all the “stuff”, but it was just very flaky.
Battery changed and re-paired, still the same. It’s been doing it since early on, I saw a few reports of it on here and wondered if it might be a software issue that would be fixed. It’s not just on waking up, it’s all the time. No problems when I control it with Yatse on Android.
Do you have any devices connected to the USB ports?
I’m not the OP, but I have an SSD connected that needs to remain so, hence the reason for giving up. They don’t seem to play nicely together.
No devices connected to the USB ports. Only connections are power, TOSlink, HDMI, RJ45.
I just use the TV remote, it’s instant, only button that I use on the V remote is the 4 dashes for delete option, the remote has been pants forever, never addressed, just usb3 blamed all the time.
You can program any button on your tv remote (e.g. red, blue, green) to open this menu with keymap editor.
Or any other menu you want/need.
Works a treat for instantly deleting watched files, downloading subs in an instant or accessing zoom functions for example.
I also have those intermitent problems and also gave up. No USB connected to anything.
I would say the Vero remote is not the strong point of Vero V.
Regarding CEC, I find less responsive the TV remote, I rather prefer the Vero V one even with its problems.
I’d suggest to contact support@osmc.tv and inquire about acquiring an extra remote receiver. With one of those connected to a external USB port, possibly with a USB extension if a particularly challenging environment is in play, should allow the remote to work perfectly for at least 6m (20’).
i just received my Vero V yesterday and set it up last night and can confirm i noticed the same button misses as well. Only power, ethernet and hdmi connected to the device. Not a deal breaker but just wanted to mention its not a one off issue.
Btw thanks to the entire team - love this device!!
