Vero V - SMB share via OSX not showing usb drives

Hi all,

Just upgraded to a Vero V and when I connect to it via ‘finder’ I can’t see the automount shares that I could see when I had my Vero 4k. I can see these shares on the Vero when I browse it on my TV screen. Thanks

Logs here: https://paste.osmc.tv/nipibusifa

Same version of OSMC on both devices?

Same method of connectivity (ie WiFi or Wired)?

Do both devices have the same hostname? If so, try changing one so it does not conflict.

Try reboot Vero
Then reboot Mac

Off the top of my head - not sure whether they were the same version as they are 2 different devices - but the new one is the latest fw and I therefore assume the old one was as automatic updates were on.

Same connection - wireless

Don’t have the same hostname - and have rebooted both. However…

I’ve just tried connecting from my Windows machine - and I can see both drives…

Would be useful to check that.

Hello,

Had some SMB woes myself over the summer. See this post in this thread.

It might help you but the TL;DR is check your advancedsettings and password XML files; also ensure your DNS setup - whatever it is - is correct because:

It’s not DNS
There’s no way its DNS
It was DNS

Avoid SMB if you can. Use NFS.
SMB has always been a source of issues and instability for me. I completely dumped it from my LAN.

How to do that when there is no NFS service to be found in the allmost empty app store for Vero V?

NFS = Network File System, is the protocol provided by the NAS you use to connect a file system.

It is built in by default into the OSMC and needs just to be configured (on your NAS, and on the VERO) to be used.
