So is the vero v meant to be run 24/7?
And is it possible to send the vero to suspend via the vero remote and also power off/suspend the TV?
Yes
Yes. You would need to configure settings>system>input>peripherals>CEC
to allow for this and just have your remote keymapped to a CEC suspend function. The default mapping for the OSMC remotes will turn turn on a TV by pressing the home button 2-3 times, and will send CEC suspend if you hold down (long-press) the home button while the home screen is active. It is possible to make the suspend work this way on any screen with a user customized keymap tweak.
Hi Stefan
The device is designed to operate 24/7. As for electricity consumption:
I took December 2023 pricing for Austria which is claimed to be 29 euro cents per kilowatt hour (no idea if correct) and calculated the maximum potential energy cost to you. This would be just over 25 euros per year
However this would be the case if Vero was running at full load constantly, and it will not do so even when playing videos. So I would say quite confidently you could halve that, particularly if you have no USB peripherals attached.
Cheers
Sam
