The Vero 2 does not support Wake on LAN, but obviously it can send WOL packets to wake other devices on the network.
Sam
Ok, bad news. I hope that the next Vero “3,” have another network card.
Merci
Michael
What did you plan to do? Wake up the vero2 with a huge pc?
Why wouldn’t you just keep the vero2 running all the time? Electricity costs are minimal.
The electricity costs are indeed quite low.
Sam
For the Vero 2, yes but I’ve a NAS with 9 discs. And with Kodi running they never spin down. Not good for electricity and for NAS lifetime.
And I will not wake up with a
but with a tablet application.
Michael
This is an interesting use case that I had not thought of.
If I try and add support for standby on the Vero 2, would you be interested in testing it?
Then something is wrong with your setup. You only should have the media files on the NAS and then the NAS should shutdown the discs unless you watch any of the media.

I have seen some reports where Kodi keeps poking the NAS and prevents spindown. I am not sure why – but that would also be worth looking in to.
Why wrong
I’ve also path substitutions like thumbnails, etc etc. And that’s works fine for me.
Ok, so but also thumbnails only will be displayed if you have a Home Screen that is continuously accessing them. Until Sam supports standby you could just have a fake WOL from your tablet by executing SSH commands (sudo systemctl stop mediacenter / sudo systemctl start mediacenter).
sorry
I think the network card don’t support WOL. statut is “d” and not “g”.
I did this with a really mighty app called tasker and the corresponding ssh plugin.
Tasker lets you create a task to execute a ssh command. Then a shortcut on homescreen can be created out of every task, also with nova launcher it’s possible to give the shortcut a custom symbol and name.
Here’s a pic of my “ssh commands folder” on homescreen. I think it’s the most convinient way to send ssh commands from an android device:
What do you guys think?
Why not.
You can also take a look to Wake On Lan from the Google App Store, also Yatse.
But when the network card from the Vero 2 isn 't switched[quote=“michael47, post:1, topic:19161”]
Supports Wake-on: d

from d —> to g
that don’t work!!!
And Sam has wrote[quote=“sam_nazarko, post:2, topic:19161”]
