Got my vero 2 today, I paid 99£+ shipping (you no say) for a NEW device.
First thing I notice: The smaler white box in the nice osmc box is definetly used…
…so what I don’t care I think to myself.
Next thing I notice about the power adapter with only 1m cable lenght it’s rather short. “Okay, I’ll need an extension cable…no big deal.”
But what I don’t like is this:
I pay for a NEW product and get a used power supply as acessory??!!
It’s melted in plastic from psu not some wrapping or glue, I checked.
And finally: Listen to this, not quality work for my, sry.

Notice, I’m not pushing hard on the housing at all.
Sam, in all honesty: Did I possibly get a used product or even a device that another person returned before?
The device is definitely not used. We have not had any returns from any customers.
The package should have arrived shrink wrapped. Did it not arrived sealed in a mailing bag? If not, this would indicate it has been opened by your local custom’s authority.
The white internal box is opened for each order to add the power supply appropriate for the customer’s destination country and install any software updates that have been released since the device was initially flashed. Then any additional peripherals (if ordered) are also added. For your order, this was a Bluetooth dongle, which you requested, and we added it gratis. We could not have put the dongle in the package without opening it. We have a separate internal box because the internal ones are not meant to be perfect, they’re meant to serve as additional protection.
I cannot see anything wrong with your power adapter.
Have you actually tried powering the unit? Is there anything actually wrong with it?

It did come in the wrapping you described.
The plastic ring on the tip, it’s melted. 2nd pic, right side…you don’t see it?
Now I have, looks ok. Hope It can’t harm the device, like cause a short circuit sometime?
And regarding the klicking noise when I press on vero lightly? Is it also nothing to worry about?
Osmc seems fast and everything working so far.
It looked like dust here but if it’s slightly abrased then I can understand your concern. It shouldn’t cause any issues, and if it’s working OK now, then it will be OK. We ship hundreds of these a day. I visually inspect the top of the device, and check the PSU works, but I have not been checking the barrel jacks of the PSU visually.
The white, inner box marks easily, and can be crushed easily, but it serves to protect the device, that’s all. And I have to open and repack each one of these boxes to match the customer’s order.
The clicking noise is not a concern, and I don’t think its a defect in the workmanship. The chassis is not actually unibody – it can be opened.
Make sure you update to the latest version via My OSMC.
