Vero2 OS

Hi!

Since I checked that the Vero 2 can switch to Android from Kodi, I’m wondering what’s the operating system under the hood. Is it raspbian? I would like to buy 2 Vero 2 (for a friend and myself) but still I want to run Sonarr and Couchpotato like I do in my Raspberry Pi 2. For that, I guess I need a Linux like Raspbian and not an Android-based operating system.

Thanks for the information in advance.

The Vero 2 runs OSMC as it’s primary OS.

OSMC is a linux distribution based on Debian Jessie.

OSMC, as far as I understand it, is a customization of Raspbian. Am I right?

More Debian… raspbian was only used for compability for RPI1

and Vero uses Debian as primary image it has a Android Image not sure how good it is since i dont own a Vero 2

OSMC isn’t based on Raspbian.

It is based on Debian has been recognised as a Debian derivative since September. You’ll be able to run Sonarr and Couchpotato if you are happy to use apt-get.

If it’s Debian, all my potential problems have been solved  Thanks everybody for the answers. Still wondering how it goes back and forth to/from Android though.

Cheers.

You can put Android on a SD card and boot from it. OSMC is on the Vero internal memory

Hi

Please see Using Android - Vero (late 2015) - OSMC and let me know if you have any further questions.
