Vero4K File systems [tmpfs]

@sam_nazarko

I am running out of space in Vero4K and want to check can I remove any of below tmpfs. I am sure they are present for a reason and want to check…

osmc@MbrVERO4K:~$ df -h
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
devtmpfs 785M 0 785M 0% /dev
tmpfs 895M 17M 879M 2% /run
/dev/vero-nand/root 14G 11G 2.7G 80% /
tmpfs 895M 0 895M 0% /dev/shm
tmpfs 5.0M 0 5.0M 0% /run/lock
tmpfs 895M 0 895M 0% /sys/fs/cgroup
tmpfs 179M 0 179M 0% /run/user/1000

What “space” you are running out of? Those tmpfs don’t use space unless used. So basically above is only using 17M.

/dev/vero-nand/root 14G 11G 2.7G 80% /

Reason is my KODI skin need need to cache the artworks locally and my “Thumbnail” folder is around 8GB.

This is the reason I asked if I can use some of these temp file systems and add space to /dev/vero-nand/

tmpfs is in memory it is not taking any of your emmc space. So simple answer is you can not use it to increase your root space.

So if your thumbnails are really eating up the 11G that you besides the OS normally have free on root that your only option is to integrate a SD Card or USB as the storage for your thumbnails.

Thanks @fzinken this my option. I have already wrote the Kodi skin forum to fix the issue as well… without having local artworks I am getting Blank screen.

Thanks for the tip.
