I used to use the Jellyfin plugin from the Jellyfin for Kodi repo without issue. I recently reset my media library due to some sync errors which led to many duplicate entries in my tv database, after which my Movies menu in Kodi remained empty, no matter what i did. I deleted the .kodi folder in my home directory, i even made a factory reset of the Vero4K via USB-Dongle, but to no avail. Every time i try to install the Jellyfin plugin, i get an unmet dependency error.
this seems to be the relevant line for my issue:
2024-09-26 20:14:35.704 T:3023 error : CAddonInstallJob[plugin.video.jellyfin]: failed to find dependency script.module.requests
i am not exactly clear on how to do that. When i selected “check for updates” in the lefthand menu while the jellyfin repo was selected, it seemed to update. A subsequent attempt to install the plugin still gave me the dependency error. Do i need to provide new logs?
I was in the same spot today. There is some kind of problem with the automatic selection and installation of dependencies between the Jellyfin Kodi package and the Kodi repos. Haven’t debugged it further yet.
Workaround for you:
select the Jellyfin addon you want to install
switch to the dependencies tab
install the dependencies manually yourself
To do this, use the remote control to go “up” on the tab and then click ok on the respective dependency. I had to install 2 or 3 of them. These were request, websocket-clients and I think also signals.
Once you have installed the dependencies, Jellyfin should be installable. I have also connected it to my Jellyfin backend and it is currently synchronizing the information nicely.
