Video image freezes and the sound continues

I’m having an issue with the YouTube plugin and I have opened a issue: video image freezes and the sound continues. The plugin developer replied that the problem isn’t with the plugin, but with OSMC.

The fixes in Release 22.3.9-Piers · xbmc/inputstream.adaptive · GitHub should mean that the streams will now actually be reopened if they have changed, but your issue appears to be a problem from before this first stopped working - seemingly a type of problem that the original change to prevent reopening of the streams was intended to fix.

Would probably need to raise the issue with the OSMC team, or maybe see if a more updated version of LibreELEC has the same issue.

I didn’t quite understand. I’m sharing the information.

As it’s fixed in Kodi v22, it looks like you will need to wait for Kodi v22 to be released as stable

At least that is my understanding from the post. The post doesn’t seem to suggest it’s an OSMC issue but rather that IA has been updated to resolve this issue but only for Kodi v22. You could enquire if there is a Kodi v21 backport planned as this is the current stable release of Kodi
