Video playback issues since 08-01 update

I’ve had playback issues with ts files (recorded by mythtv) ever since installing the 08-01 update.
The audio runs too fast, and pauses every few seconds for the video to catch up. The hardware is an rpi2. The issue occurs when audio is played over hdmi. It does not occur when audio output is directed to the analog jack. More info:

  • The files played without issue before the 08-01 upgrade was installed
  • The files play without issue on other devices (OSMC on an rpi3, kodi on a linux desktop)

Hi,

I can confirm this issue. Somehow the audio-speed does not match the video-speed. German sound goes kind of immediately out of sync with the video. skipping 10s back fixes it, but after some seconds playback the de-sync becomes clearly visible / audible.

I played around with these settings:

  • whitelisted resolutions
  • adjust display refresh rate
  • sync playback to display

I found some szenarios where the sound was played slower (with that lowish voice-frequency).

All very strange.

I’m having similar issues after the big update too. Audio is out of sync on multiple video files, including videos played through the Netflix app. I’ll try and post some logs shortly

Nothing? I really do not want to go back to 18 :confused:

Might be related with Vero 4k iptv issues after August update which makes me a bit more hopeful that this is a problem in kodi rather than in the vero 4k kernel. Let’s see if the update to 19.2 solves this… There’s also this fix that gives me some hope…

That newer version of FFMPEG should be in the next Kodi build.
