Volume to low

in kodi it’s set to -0 db -

You have two options: volume and volume amplification. Volume of -0dB is fine, so you’ll need to Increase volume amplification.

Edit: You didn’t say if your speakers are amplified.

Logitech X-620
Subwoofer 24,3 W
Satellites 4 x 7,5W

This cube makes noise… i used it before on the pc…

As i wrote - “loudness level” or amplification / +5 db no change
And above 5db - distortion…

I must try a DAC but i think this produces a higher load.
And - to my disappointment - vero ist not sooooo much faster than a raspi… :rage:

The Vero 4K won’t have any problem with a USB sound card. You can find cheap and cheerful ones but I have no idea how good they will be and if they will meet your requirements.

I suspect you may have been using a USB soundcard on your PC which would be a bit more flexible. The 3.5mm out on the Vero 4K is intended to provide:

  • a CVBS output
  • a good audio output for headphones
  • a good audio output for two speakers

But it’s not an amplifier, and really it sounds like you need one.

The Vero 4K should be a fair bit faster than a Pi. But it depends on the workload. Some add-ons won’t show a performance benefit because they are single threaded.

The Vero 4K is faster than a Pi 3 for:

  • Network workloads (Ethernet and WiFi)
  • CPU workloads (faster cores)
  • IO workloads (eMMC)

But this relies on your use case taking advantage of this.

There are also a variety of other reasons to go with a Vero 4K. 10-bit HEVC support; 4K support; 802.11ac; optical out; five years support. There are other reasons but this isn’t a sales pitch.

I am sorry you are not happy with your Vero 4K and want to make things right. If you’d like to call me I’d be more than obliged to help, just let me know.

Sorry… .Naturally and logically the x-620 is a active-box with ampflification.
Without amplification you hear nothing…
This is definetly NOT the problem.

Output for headphones? How will this work with this pinout?
To my surprise… it does not matter if i use a normal headphone cable or the cable with the “proprietary” pin out.
It’s the same result.

I will try a usb-dac and hope that the device does not yell for drivers…
The network access is slower than the raspi… perhaps the cause is my 5Ghz Wlan…

I will try some things… but my enthusiasm is limited…

Most USB sound cards will work out of the box.
Those with Linux support will.

Please start a new forum post if you have issues with your WiFi throughput, including some iperf tests, and we will resolve this for you. I’m able to get a bit above 200Mbps over 802.11ac on my Vero 4K.

You cannot connect to 802.11ac networks on a Raspberry Pi. It’s worth connecting to the same N network however (most are separate) to compare and ensure speeds are the same, and then take things from there

I’ve reached out to you via PM.

Let’s try and get things solved, and feel free to get in touch with with me directly. It’s a bit late here now but I’d be happy to have a chat with you tomorrow morning.

I can use headphones on my Vero 2 and Vero 4K without issue.
The pinout will only be important for CVBS users.

Maybe not. The RPi pinout is designed so that a normal headphone jack will not only work but also short the video output in case there is some signal there. It seems the Vero needs a TRRS plug, unless there’s something clever inside which re-routes the right channel if the second ring is shorted to sleeve. Is there?

If you are using a 2 channel RCA connector then this may not sound correct

I use a normal cable… it dont’works
I use a hand-made cable it don’t works

You don’t understand me - my wifi is complete OK - network this is my job. Network Access works fine with a rasbi - but NOT with vero…

Today i buyed this item:

USB-AUDIO-ADAPTER

And tadaaaa it works… Normal clear sound…
By the way - of course my logitech x-620 work correct…

That brings us to the Knowledge that the 3,5 out is waste…

Right. But I’m interested in getting it to work properly on the Vero 4K.

As explained previously, the Pi is 802.11b/g/n but the Vero 4K also supports
802.11ac. If you have separate networks for 2Ghz and 5Ghz, try connecting
to the 2Ghz network on Vero 4K and see if things improve.

Alternatively, I am happy to look at this for you and see what we can do
to improve the situation. There are a lot of factors (environmental) that can
affect WiFi performance.

I am using now the good old lan cable…
