Web Browser

Just got a Vero V and was surprised to find out it didn’t have a web browser. I feel a bit stupid as I probably shouldn’t just purchased a raspberry Pi but I thought this would be easier. I’m looking to power a TV in a community-owned convenience store. The TV will mostly be showing Con's Pit Stop – Orcas Island . I had been using a 14 year old chromebit thingy but wanted to get onto open source and away from Google.

So I guess I’m curious if anyone has any ideas or thoughts. I don’t particularly want to return the device as I want to support OSMC / Vero.

Any thoughts?

John

What do you mean with “showing”? You mean just displaying the webpage?
If that is your use case then a raspberry pi in kiosk mode is a better choice.
you also can install a graphical interface and browser on the Vero V if it is just about displaying and surfing webpages but don’t expect Videos in that browser too smoothly

Web browser isn’t too bad as long as video acceleration isn’t used.

Drop me an email at sam@osmc.tv with your requirements and I’ll see how I can help.

Cheers

Sam
