WebDAV display path

I’m running OSMC/Kodi 21.1 on a Vero V with the default OSMC Skin. Not sure if the following issue would need a fix in the OSMC skin or if it’s up to Kodi devs.

My network is made up of two different locations that are connected over the internet by site-to-site WireGuard VPN using my two firewalls. My media is stored on Site B but I’m mostly at Site A. Because of the slight increase in latency over the internet I can’t use an SMB file share for my media as that’s too slow (SMB performance is very sensitive to latency). Instead I use WebDAV, this works perfectly and even Blu-ray UHD rips play without issue (ISOs are very slow, but that’s another matter).

However, in some places in the GUI where a file path/name is displayed it shows it as a URL-encoded string which makes it hard to read. A simple URL decode should fix it.

Here’s an example; Information > Refresh
(the full path to the file that scrolls across the screen)

The same can be seen under “Manage versions” and a few other places as well.

Could you check to see if it is the same with the Estuary skin? If it is the same in both then it would probably be a Kodi thing. If it is only with the OSMC skin then @Chillbo could probably look into fixing it for that skin.

Ah, yes, it’s the same with Estuary. I suppose there could be a general strategy not to decode this until it’s displayed as it can cause issues (like this). If so, maybe it should be done at the skin level anyway?

If it is something within the ability of the skinner to do, perhaps. Since I tagged the OSMC skin dev he will probably pop in with whatever thoughts he has on the topic when he gets the chance.

Not sure I can do anything about this… The info label used here is populated by Kodi and I can’t really change its behaviour or manipulate the info shown. Sry

Understood, thanks for looking at it.
