Dear friends,
quite a lot more than in the past I am getting Kodi on Vero to “freeze” while playing movies.
When this happen the GUI is totally stuck and the only way to resume control of Kodi is to either restart mediacenter or reboot.
The movies are played from a Samba or NFS share (cannot recall right now and am writing from office) from a Raspbmc image running on a Pi2 over a cabled Giga network.
I did not try to play the offending movies from local storage (that would be my next attempt if sensible).
The same movies played from the same share via Kodi or VLC from my iMac appear to slightly stutter more or less in the same points but usually resume after a second or so and keep playing.
Is it always on the same movies? if so we’ll probably want to have mediainfo on those particular movies. Might be good to have some logs taken at the same time of the crash.
Thanks. Here is the Mediainfo on one of those movies where things get stuck (in this case well into the movie, almost 1 hour IIRC)

Thanks a lot Doctor Nazarko (and kudos for your graduation)
I will try to understand if using handbrake I’ll be able to recode the offending streams within the specs.
I am not sure I know what to use on my Mac to lift off a segment of the video without changing it while saving. Will try to understand and if I succeed I’ll get back in touch.
But now that I’m looking through my old Disney movies I see this freezing occurr a lot. Here is Hercules. It freezes despite my uneducated understanding of the mediainfo would say it lies within the specs you mentioned. Other ideas ? Might this be CIFS related or audio related ?
TIA

Yes – the specs look OK there. For MKV files you can download a file called ‘mkvtoolnix’ which will allow you to split your video into smaller files. If you can, upload the smallest / shortest file you can create that still reproduces this problem and I will take a look.
It would also be good to see kodi.log (in debugging mode) when the Hercules film starts to have problems
