Not applicable in you case (I guess).
CEC = Consumer Electronics Control.
Allows you to use your TV remote to control external devices like OSMC via the HDMI cable
So is it software that teaches the vero how to communicate with something Like a Logitech harmony ?
I have a harmony at home that’s been collecting dust
No, CEC is allow your TV remote to communicate via the TV and HDMI cable to control OSMC.
That one you can use to control OSMC via the IR receiver that is being delivered with the Vero.
Oh nice I just googled around a bit to read up on CEC abd how it works and found this for the BenQ projector im using so i guess this looks good.
CEC Support:
The HT2050 remote includes full playback controls - this works very nicely with CEC-capable devices such as bluray players. Likewise, the directional buttons will also control a bluray player’s menus via CEC. (The W1070 was unable to do this). This is useful for controlling playback in the dark since the remote is backlit.
I don’t think you’ll need to access the console regularly.
I think the supplied remote will be more than adequate
