Read the TP-Link TL-WN823N was power hungry (heat issues, too?)

The Official OSMC Dongle would be a good choice.

Edimax works perfectly for my RPi2

Edimax is a brand and they produce a lot of dongles (different VID/PIDS). We don’t support many Edimax dongles at all in the 802.11ac band.

You would be better off getting an 802.11ac one like the OSMC dongle.

My Edimax is only 802.11b/g/n so for 802.11ac I agree.
