I am running an Apple TV with OSMC 2017-01-1 (for Crystal HD decoder card support) and the latest available Plex add-on (Plex for Kodi 0.1.3). I am able to connect to my Plex server and login, but when I select a video, it throws a 400 BAD_REQUEST error.
I’m just curious if anyone knew of any workaround or way to get it to work.
Edit: I tried installing Plex Media Server 1.22.3 (back when /Decision was still used in URL requests) on my network and it still wasn’t able to serve up content.
I doubt it. There have been changes over the years to Plex server that broke the old clients and I seriously doubt anyone backported that to anything that will run on Kodi v17. Plex for Kodi doesn’t even work anymore on current setups.
I’m not a programmer, but I assume so. Also, asking someone who is volunteering their time to support something so old and that few users would even use it is a pretty big ask. Plex themselves haven’t put out a Kodi addon in years. The dev behind plexmod had actually been the one maintaining and updating the “official” add-on that you find in Kodi’s repo and IIRC last year posted that he wasn’t doing it any more as it was too much time and effort for something inferior/outdated to his Plexmod fork. You might browse through his thread on Kodi and/or Plex forum about the older version of Plexmod.
Another option is to run Plex in DLNA mode and there are some Kodi 17 DLNA addons still available. You won’t have any proprietary Plex features but playing videos and such should work.
