hi, i have been reading about this topic for the past 2 days, i know that latest builds have hevc software decoding enabled i also know that nightly builds for olec and librelec can play 1080p x265 as well. i have tried on latest osmc build and its unplayable i also tried OC but the box kept crashing on start up. is there something to enable on the settings to be able to play the files?
Are you on one of gmc’s v17 nightlies?
nope i’m on OSMC latest stable build, do i have to install latest nightly?
The nightlies should offer smoother playback of x265
ok installing latest one, should i over clock or change the video settings?
should i use omxplayer or mmal decoding?
