YouTube Install failed in Rasp3 with OSMC 2024.08.01

Dear Community

Just after the initial configuration of a clear installation of OSMC 2024.08.01 in a Raspberry Pi 3 I tried to install some addons, starting with YouTube from Kodi official repository.

After some time, OSMC notified that installation was failed.
I add some logs about. Maybe dependencies repositories are down?

The download server has maintenance for a couple of minutes a day to take backups and check mirror availability.

This usually isn’t noticed by users as updates will fail silently and get picked up a little later.

I have checked and it is online now. Today’s maintenance was between 1:01AM and 1:02AM, so occurred after you posted. As such, I’m not sure this will be the cause of the problem you experienced. Please try again and let us know if the issue persists

The issues is persistent, I tried again for a while.

There is a message of error in the installation of a dependency for YouTube addon. I also notice this dependency error for other third party add-ons installatiob. Maybe a broken URL?

On the other hand, the My OSMC updates works fine.

Any idea?

I suggest posting a full log and also checking you can access download.osmc.tv via a browser

The issue persist. That is really strange, because this is a clear OSMC installation.

I checked the right access to https://download.osmc.tv/ in the raspberry Pi creating a new file source in the file manager.

I tried to upload the full log, but I only have permission to upload images, not text files . The post have a limited text file. How could I upload the full log? Is it possible to upgrade my permissions?

You are meant to upload logs via My OSMC.

Let me clarify the log upload.

I successfully uploaded the log from myOSMC.
The problem comes when i tried to upload the log file to this reply in the forum.
I only can upload images (not txt log files) in the forum reply and the full log file exceed for long the maximum characters allowed for the reply.

Any suggestion about uploading txt file to this post?

I successfully uploaded the log from myOSMC.

If you uploaded via MyOSMC you are presented with a URL. Just share the URL so that the team is able to check the logs. No need to upload the log file itself.

I tried something new.

Usually I generate the OSMC image only with WIRED interface. I tried a new image enabling WIRELESS interface.

Then I configured, updated OSMC and finally successfully installed YouTube add-on.

BUT, after that I did some tests. Disabling wireless, enabling wired, uninstalling YouTube and trying to install YouTube again, but failed.

I also tried to enable wireless again and install YouTube → failled again
Seems that something happened with the wired interface.

So this is only a problem with Wired connection and not WiFi?
If so, I’d check your network and physical hardware.

I don’t think it could be a hardware problem.
From MyOSMC I successfully update OSMC OS files with no errors.

Current setup can also reach download.osmc.tv from a new source in file manager.

The errors appear when trying to install add-ons and their dependencies.

I will try to access video in my local network, just to discard any hardware malfunction.

I could make further test

• Trying to install “SouthPark” add.on → dependency failed
• Trying to install “YouTube” add-on → dependency failed
• Install of “TV3Cat” add-on → successfull (no dependencies)

To check the network interface (wireless) I reproduced a stream from TV3Cat add-on → no issues. Good quality.
I also created a file source from http://download.osmc.tv/ and copy some folders to a USB pendrive from Index of /osmc/osmc/download/kodi/addons/omega → Successfull copy (4,1 Mbytes total)

Seems that something fails with dependencies.
Please let me know if I could make further test or enable additional logs.
