Thank you for the very informative reply! I didn’t know that about samba shares always reporting NTFS, I should have plugged it into the PC instead to check.
Is there a significant drawback to using NTFS with OSMC? I do need this drive to work on both a Windows and Linux computer, so I’d need to use that anyway. Thank you!
If the drive just has media files on it and you need to be able to plug the drive into a Windows computer as well, format it NTFS.
NTFS is a little bit slower than EXT4 on Linux, but not enough that it would matter, certainly not for video playback.
