Since my LG C9 doesn’t handle Dolby Vision very well, I would like to know if there’s an option to disable Dolby Vision and use HDR10 instead.
Thank you in advance!

Try Settings->Player->Videos->hdr processing. (needs settings level Advanced or Expert).
You’re a legend!
I have a C8, what issues are you having with your C9?
I can’t get the picture right. Cinema it way too dim and Cinema Home has massive black crushing. It hoest doesn’t look right, no matter what I try
Watching DV with the Cinema preset is too dim but watching HDR10 with the cinema preset is not?
I have done extensive testing between DV and HDR10 on my C8 and black crush is real, but being too dim has never been an issue for me on Cinema.
DV will make some scenes darker and some scenes brighter then HDR10, it’s supposed to do that.
Yeah, if you don’t like DV overall then leave it turned off.
I turn it off for some movies as well because of black crush issues.
Here’s my key LG CX OLED Settings for DV / HDR which work for me, based on some extensive ‘research’ and experimentation.
One of the key settings for HDR, to ‘undim’ the picture, was to enable ‘dynamic tone mapping’.
I avoided ‘cinema mode’ altogether.
Thank you very much! I will definitely try these settings for my Vero V with DV.
Much appreciated!
Well, how you watch your TV is your business and that’s okay but you should decide on what your goals are first; do you want the picture to be as accurate as possible or do you want it to look the way you like it?
If you care at all about accuracy, you will want to use Cinema or Cinema Home (it’s a little brighter than Cinema) when watching movies and you definitely don’t want to use Dynamic Tone Mapping.
If you want bright, that’s cool, crank up the settings to your desire or use VIVID or Dynamic Tone Mapping (which can produce some great results from time to time).

Thank you for reaching out. I’m well aware of this, that’s why I use Cinema in the first place. And in normal HDR there is no problem.
The problem is, that the C9 keeps dimming the screen in DV when scenes are dark for a while. To a point that you just don’t see anything anymore. It’s unwatchable if you’re watching something with a lot of dark scenes. As soon as something bright pops up, the whole brightness shoots back to normal.
With cinema home it’s better, but than the blacks are crushed.
you can disable that: https://www.reddit.com/r/OLED_Gaming/comments/18re2mn/for_those_who_are_suffering_from_autodimming_on/
I’m not sure “1113111” works on a C9, I know it doesn’t on my C8.
I took an old Harmony remote and programmed it for my LG and that gave me the option to get into the service menu.
Alternatively you could just buy a cheap LG service remote clone from Amazon like this one.
You definitely want to fix that, DV or not.
I had it happen to me a few times on HDR10 content too.
Vincent did a great video about this on his YouTube channel:
yeah harmony or old android phone with ir blaster is the way
