We are still looking in to it. Our 3.14 kernel is EOL, so any work in this area will come via 4.9
Thanks , is there any thread to follow up kernel progress /release ?!
There will be a public one soon.
Sam
Any update on this?
As 4K is out for a while i own a lot of Discs with HDR+ or Dolby Vision Content so now just my Player (Vero4K+) isn’t supporting them.
It would be great if you could give HDR Content more priority.
ATM i always need to use my UHD Player and the Disc, but i would like to have just one Device for this.
I hope this will be implemented soon as the vero4k+ without it is outdated for actual high quality movies.
Thanks.
Dolby Vision support is not going to happen on any current OSMC device, and probably not on any future OSMC device either.
HDR10+ is working in the 4.9 kernel test builds:
Yeah i saw that about the 4.9 Kernel and i also saw it could brick my device.
So is there now a working version or still just the test which could brick my device?
It’s still at the beta testing stage, but I don’t think it will brick your device.
Updated and tested.
It isn’t working for me, the TV always displays me HDR but not HDR10+.
I also tried on my tv directly with Plex and Emby App and directly it is working and displaying HDR10+
So no HDR10+ for me on kodi, nether with plex nor with emby (both are saying direct play, so there is no transcoding active).
To get a better understanding of the problem you are experiencing we need more information from you. The best way to get this information is for you to upload logs that demonstrate your problem. You can learn more about how to submit a useful support request here.
Depending on the used skin you have to set the settings-level to standard or higher, in summary:
-
enable debug logging at settings->system->logging
-
reboot the OSMC device twice(!)
-
reproduce the issue
-
upload the log set (all configs and logs!) either using the
Log Uploader
method within the My OSMC menu in the GUI or thessh
method invoking commandgrab-logs -A
-
publish the provided URL from the log set upload, here
Thanks for your understanding. We hope that we can help you get up and running again shortly.

Ok, done:

The TV shows me HDR but not HDR10+ This time i tried native with kodi, no emby or plex addon.
Thanks

Your Denon receiver does not support HDR10+, or at least it does not advertise support for it via the EDID.
Try connect the Vero directly to the TV.
ok thanks, i will try that
Only the newest Denon AVRs which haven’t been released yet will support HDR10+.
Was the whole discussion from 2019/2020 realted to the “old” Vero 4k or is it also valid for the current Vero 4k+?
The product page says “HDR10/HDR10+ ready”. Does it mean that the support was added during / after the discussion or that it’s still missing “officially”, while being supported by the current hardware (to some extent?)?
HDR10+ is supported on 4K and 4K+. Make sure you’re using a recent version of OSMC.
