I will try x265 files with this clean reinstall
It seems ok with one warm reboot and one cold reboot.
More tests this week-end.
I’ll report then.
Everything seems fine on x265 front now with the latest userland release.
Thank you for your efforts !
Thanks for confirming this. I’m glad to hear.
I just registered to say I have had the same issues as the OP - ALL HEVC files (sdr, hdr, sd, hd, 4k) stopped playing (audio plays, video is about 10 seconds per frame) since the December update. Long press of info shows hardware decoding of the Vero 4k+ is still in use.
Initially the cold reboot method worked, but this stopped eventually and was a pain to completely disconnect anyway.
I checked the version of the userland package and it was already 2.0.1. The video_ucode firmware binary was the correct hash (starting c5…) of the latest release Sam mentioned above.
I tried reinstalling the userland deb as well as per the earlier messages and this did nothing.
The only fix which worked was to replace the firmware binary with that one linked directly above (the one in the initial fix starting with 2a…).
So at least in my case, the current packages which are available do not solve the issue, and only the earlier video_ucode firmware file that was posted in this thread solves it.
Some logs and knowing whether you have a Vero 4K or 4K+ would be useful.
Which version were you on before the update?
Cheers
Sam
Hello,
Has there been any update ? It is broken again for me.
I have redownloaded the “not garanteed fix” here and no problem : HEVC issues with Vero4K+ - #28 by sam_nazarko
Here are the logs : https://paste.osmc.tv/kirosezewu
I have reinstalled vero3-userland-osmc
2.0.1 and it seems ok again.
It seemed OK but in the end is not.
Back to /lib/firmware/osmc/video/video_ucode.bin
with a md5sum of 2a9a9020529342dff875fd2e60d9d615
that works everytime
Can you post fresh logs so I can check your update history?
Thanks
Sam
Is the hotfix in the latest disk image? Vero 4K / 4K + 2021.12-1
What hotfix are you referring to?
Your system looks up to date.
md5sum checksum should be c592fa18ef2e10cd42baa31bc5805126
.
c592fa18ef2e10cd42baa31bc5805126
does not work anymore.
I use the hotfix with the md5sum 2a9a9020529342dff875fd2e60d9d615
Have you tried with a fresh install?
I meant the fix to the choppy HEVC problem
The latest images should not give you playback issues and contain the latest OSMC updates.
Perfect, thanx
