Installing GCC4.7

Hi all,

I am running the latest version of OSMC for the Raspberry pi 2. Now I am trying to get RetroPie, but when I execute the setup script I get this error:

Note, selecting ‘gcc-4.7-base’ for regex ‘gcc-4.7’
Package g+±4.7 is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source

E: Package ‘g+±4.7’ has no installation candidate

When I search for packages I see that 4.7 is missing in the list.

Anyone knows a way to get RetroPie running?

Did you use the search or look at any of the most recent threads here?

This thread is active even in the last hour… [HowTo] Installing RetroPie alongside OSMC RC (the easy way) - #385 by natrapsmai

I did must have missed that, sorry my bad!

OSMC ships gcc 4.9. That should cause you no problems. Try sudo apt-get install gcc.

Sam

Nope. I have 4.9 installed but still ./retropie-setup complains that 4.7 isnt present

The link you listed does not ship a retropie setup script. Any ideas?

Did anybody find a solution for this? I would like to update my Retropie installation and it complains about the lack of gcc4.7.

Thanks!

Just use a symlink to trick it; or retrosmc.
